A Brief History of Revolver Reloads
Sixty-years ago, a law enforcement officer carried a revolver as their service weapon. About this time, "speed-loaders" were invented to provide a means to quickly reload a revolver if necessary.
Speed-loaders provide for fast reloads and are easy to uses; however, they are bulky. This did not affect an officer as they carried their speed-loader in a pouch attached to their duty-belt.

Sometime after that, the concept of a "speed-strip" was developed.

A speed-strip is more compact than a speed-loader; however, a speed-strip is more difficult and slower to use.

In today's world, law enforcement officers carry semi-automatic pistols as their duty weapon along with spare magazines to provide reloads. Many individuals who carry a concealed firearm for personal protection also carry in a similar manner.
There are concealed carriers who have issues such as poor hand-strength or arthritis who simply cannot operate a semi-automatic pistol. For these individuals, carrying a "snub-nose" revolver is a very viable option. There are also concealed carriers who, by choice, would rather carry a "snub-nose" revolver. For these individuals, the question becomes what to do about "reloads"? If a concealed carrier has fired all the rounds in their revolver, they are most likely in a fight defending their life or the lives of their loved ones. In this case, having a reload available is really important. Carrying a bunch of cartridges loose in a pocket is simply not an option! They could carry a speed-loader; but, the question is how do they carry it? A speed-loader in its carrier represents a rather large "lump" on their belt. A speed-loader is arguably more difficult to conceal than the revolver itself is. They could carry a speed-strip; but, again, the question is how and where do they carry it concealed?

This was the impetus to develop the ZIP-Clip. It was designed to provide a means to carry a revolver reload in a compact and easily concealed manner while providing the advantages of a traditional speed-loader. Using modern materials and thoughtful design, the ZIP-Clip achieved its goals. A quality leather holster that holds two ZIP-Clips - two 5-round reloads in a compact and easily concealed 6 x 3.2 x 0.6 inch space.
The ZIP-Clip was designed to work with an S&W J-Frame and is also compatible with any revolver that can use a traditional speed-loader designed for the J-Frame.
